Lusaka Golf club

The Lusaka Golf Club club was officially opened in 1935. It initially ran from what is now Lusaka Club all the way through Sunningdale. A few Alterations were made during the 2nd World War , this saw the addition of new holes and redefining it from the Sunningdale area. The Course as we know it today was developed in 1958. This when the first tree was planted and by 1962 It had all the 18 holes had been fully developed. Fast forward to 1993 the first (computer controlled) state of the art irrigation system was Installed. This began the new Era which transformed the fairways. There have been several changes and improvements to the course making it even more tougher. The Course has now become a challenging Par 73 rating with 5 Par Fives Four Par Fours and Ten par 4s. There are about 5 water holes to add to the challenge.

Livingstone golf Club – this course is a mixture of golf and safari with the Victoria Falls as its greatest attraction. The course is set in a veritable botanical garden and honours the tradition and history of the game of golf while providing a unique African golfing experience in Zambia, Being the oldest golf club in Zambia – established in 1902 – in recent years the course was not maintained to the acceptable standards of an 18 hole golf course and is now a 9 hole challenging but interesting course.  Local businessmen are renovating the clubhouse and putting money into regaining the course to its original splendour.

Elephant Hills Hotel and Golf Course

The 18 hole golf course at Elephant Hills was designed by Gary Player.  The blend of Flora and fauna with the imported grasses has made this course on of the most beautiful golf courses in Africa.  Playing golf at the Elephant Hills course is like a walk in the park, Kudus, Warthogs etc. are seen enjoying the well maintained grasses and the vegetation – be warned they can play havoc with your golf swing and bunker shots.

Ndola Golf Course – The second oldest golf course in Zambia – established in 1921 as a nine hole golf course it graduated to 18 holes in 1954.  The Zambian open has been held at the Ndola Golf club over many years with the likes of Brian Barnes, Ian Woosnam Sandy Lyle and Jose Maria Cannezanees gracing its fairways. Although the course has no water hazards, the designers have made full use of its numerous anthills some reaching the height of 3 metres!
