11 Night Family Safari

Itinerary

Day 1 – You will arrive at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka and be met by a representative of Voyagers for assistance to your check-in at the domestic terminal for your flight to Mfuwe in the eastern province of Zambia. Your flight to Mfuwe in South Luangwa National Park will take 1 hour and on arrival you will be met by your driver and guide from Flatdogs Camp for your transfer to The Croc Nest which will be your home for 4 nights.

The Crocodile Nest is a large tented “house” with stunning views onto the Luangwa River. Step into your own private safari – enjoy lazing in the sun next to your own private swimming pool before taking in an exciting safari with your own private guide and vehicle. The house offers two en-suite bedrooms with semi-open bathrooms, sitting room, private dining room, WiFi, bar fridge, complimentary tea & coffee tray, safe and mains electricity.

Day 5 – You will be transferred back to Mfuwe Airport by your guide for your flight to Lusaka to connect to your flight to the Royal Airstrip in the Lower Zambezi National Park. Your flight takes you over the Muchinga Escarpment with awesome aerial views of the mighty Zambezi River. On arrival at the airstrip you will be met by Royal Zambezi Lodge and transferred to the lodge – a short 10 minute drive away.

Set against the breathtaking mountain backdrop of the Zambezi Valley Escarpment, Royal Zambezi is a 5-star accommodation that has been painstakingly constructed to retain and enhance the lodge’s unique bush setting while taking advantage of the prime positioning on the mighty Zambezi River. The lodge offers the perfect combination of contemporary, simplistic style and extreme comfort while providing a pure wilderness experience. There are no fences around the lodge, and their regular guests include elephant, hippo, buffalo, lion, leopard and a myriad of bird species.

Your stay at Royal Zambezi Lodge will be for 4 nights with opportunities to enjoy day and night drives, short walking safaris, half or full day fishing trips and sundowner cruises of the Zambezi River stopping off at one of the many islands for sundowner drinks and photo opportunities of the most incredible sunsets.

Day 9 – After an early breakfast you will be transferred back to the Royal Airstrip for your flight to Lusaka to connect to Livingstone. Your flight is 1 hour long with your first aerial view of the Victoria Falls.

On arrival in Livingstone you will be met by a Voyagers representative and transferred to the Avani Hotel right next to the Victoria Falls, just a short walk through the gardens of the hotel and you are on the doorstep of the falls.

Stay in style at this stunning hotel in Victoria Falls bordered by Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park for close encounters with Zambia’s amazing wildlife and incredible views of Victoria Falls. There are 212 rooms and suites at Avani, free unlimited access to Victoria Falls, access to viewing decks at sister hotel Royal Livingstone Hotel by Anantara and also boma dinners with traditional dance entertainment. Wake up in African paradise. All Avani’s rooms and suites are decorated with traditional African charm and a welcoming Zambia-nce. Choose from views of the lush African bush, the sparkling swimming pool, or the gardens in the heart of the resort. Livingstone hotels don’t get more cosy than this.

Your stay at the Avani will be for 3 nights on a bed and breakfast basis with many opportunities to partake of the numerous activities in Livingstone and around Victoria Falls from dinner on the train to the elephant encounter with lunch overlooking the Zambezi River.

Optional: stay an extra day and do a day trip to Chobe National Park in Botswana.

Day 12– Voyagers will transfer you to the Livingstone airport for your connecting international flight.
