Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrive in Lusaka with meet and greet by Voyagers – they will assist you to the domestic terminal for check-in for your flight to Mfuwe Airport – South Luangwa National Park. On arrival at Mfuwe Airport you will be met by a representative from Thornicroft Lodge and transferred to the lodge.
In the heart of one Africa's finest unspoiled wildlife areas, Thornicroft Lodge offers you all the essential amenities for a truly memorable safari vacation. The lodge is set in a beautiful location on the banks of the Luangwa River, home to wallowing hippos and bathing elephants and makes the most of our wonderful surroundings without compromising on comfort.
Your transfer to Thornicroft Lodge will take approximately 35 minutes driving through the local villages and schools. On arrival you will be given a safety briefing, remembering that you are in a national park and the home of the wildlife who have right of way!
You will enjoy three nights at Thornicroft Lodge on a full board basis including your game viewing activities. Each evening your guide will discuss your options for game viewing for the following day.
Day 4 – The lodge will inform you what time you will depart for the airport for your flight to Lower Zambezi via Lusaka. Your flight to Lusaka will take 1 hour 10 minutes and your flight from Lusaka to Lower Zambezi Royal Airstrip will take 20 minutes. The time in total will depend on your connecting flights.
On arrival at Royal Airstrip you will be met by a representative from Nsofu Lodge for your drive through the Game Management Area to the lodge.
Nestling in the shade of indigenous riverine trees on the confluence of the Zambezi River and the Kafue River, Nsofu Lodge is 17 kilometres from Chirundu and 65 kilometres from the Lower Zambezi National Park. Nsofu Lodge has been sensitively designed to allow ample space to relax, unwind and savour the tranquillity of the rivers. A hideaway where romance and adventure are intertwined for the perfect getaway – truly, home away from home with an exceptional view.
The drive to Nsofu Lodge will take about 1 hour depending on what game you encounter on the way. Remember a sunhat and sunscreen. Alternatively you can have a boat transfer on the Zambezi River – a great way to experience the life on the river with hippos, crocodiles, and amazing bird life. If you are lucky you can see elephants cross the river!
On arrival at Nsofu you will check into your chalet for 3 nights on full board basis, including a fishing trip and a sundowner cruise during your stay.
Day 7 – The lodge will let you know what time you will depart from Nsofu for Livingstone, the options are by road to Livingstone (this transfer takes about 5 hours) or fly to Lusaka and connect with your flight to Livingstone. The flight from Lusaka to Livingstone takes 1 hour.
On arrival in Livingstone you will be met by a representative of Maramba River Lodge for your transfer to the lodge.
Maramba River Lodge is located just 4kms from the Victoria Falls and 4kms from Livingstone town. The lodge sits on the Maramba River, along the elephant corridor within the Mosi-O-Tunya National Park, providing guests with extraordinary views throughout their stay. The lodge is home to various wildlife such as elephants, birds and hippos. What sets Maramba River Lodge apart is their restaurant, an international wine selection that is a sommelier’s dream, a luxury Suntracker motorboat for river safaris, and an extensive playground for children with the option for child care.
Your drive to the lodge will take around 20 minutes through the Livingstone town towards the Victoria Falls. You will check into your chalet at Maramba River Lodge for 3 nights on a bed and breakfast basis including a guided tour of the falls.
Day 10 – You will be transferred by Maramba River Lodge to Livingstone airport for your international flight departure at a time to be agreed.
While in Livingstone you will have the opportunity to enjoy the many activities in the town and around the Victoria Falls as well as an added 1 day trip to Chobe National Park in Botswana.
