Hwange National Park is Zimbabwe’s largest reserve. It covers more
than 14 600 square kilometres and has more wild animals than any other
park in the country, including over 400 bird species. The park is
renowned for its elephants and is the best place to see lions in the
greater Victoria Falls area. Hwange National Park is easily accessible
from Victoria Falls, which is located only 100km away by road. The best
time to visit and view animals is between July and October in the dry
season, when the animals gather around the waterholes.
